So me and my boyfriend were hanging out today which isn't something unuusal. [just a little side info before i get into it, we have been together for over 2 years now.] My boyfriend has been into cars since before he could talk. He has basically built the car he has right now from scratch, including painting it. [its a 88 Monte Carlo ls 12.5 in the quarter mile for anyone into cars.] He was talking to me today about something on his car. Now don't get me wrong I know a little bit about cars not a whole lot but enough that I could hold a conversation with a normal person about them. So while he's talking I never noticed but apprently the things I don't know he dumbs down for me. Well today he starts talking about something I happen to know about and the way he dumbed it down made me feel pretty bad. All of this got me thinking, cars are my boyfriends life this is what he wants to do for the rest of his life and I know close to nothing about the hobby. At this point its only a hobby it will be what he makes his living off of. I think I need to put at least a little effort into what he likes.

I guess I'm just curious how many of you are interested and knowledgable in your SO's hobby.
